Skype Problem

i have problem with Skype, it couldn't online. I've disabled the IPS, Web filtering, and only create a rule consists of   internal ---> Any ---> Any, Allow with one masquerading NAT Internal ---> Internet (interface) but the issue persists. the Skype work with 80 and 443 ports but when i captured the Skype's Packets with Wireshirk i saw that it uses the other ports However with this rule it It must have worked... I've restarted and reset factory but.... but the behind of the Firewall it works [:S]

    Then configure Skype to work with the Proxy.

    I've never had to configure the Socks and this is the first time. Can you get an example of socks configuration please?

    HI Team,

    I have ASG 8.309

    I'm doing the same setting except the Incoming port => 5000.

    But for some users , they are able to log in in to the Skype but they are unable to send the any messages.

    So I need to to give them the Uncategorized Web category to them.(I don't want to give them the Uncategorized web category.)(It works with without Socks proxy in this case.)

    Any clue , does this thing has any thing to do with the Skype version??

    Hi Yagnesh, 

    It could have to do with the Skype version, and/or the Skype servers being contacted.

    Setting up SOCKS may be easier than messing with the web proxy.
    If you have direct access to the Skype client PC's, you can use SOCKS5 with passwords if you want to make it harder for users to (ab)use the proxy for other programs.

    Hi Barry ,

    Correct me If I am wrong

    IP of web or socks proxy would be the same , only the port would be different.

    Webproxy => 8080 (No need of any extra firewall rule required)

    Socksproxy => 1080 (No need of any extra firewall rule required)

    Though i'm enabling the socks proxy for them , their skype is not workng(unable to send reply).

    I'm facing this issue with only 5 users among the 30 users.(I have given them(only 5 users) socksproxy + webproxy with uncategorized category).

    no..we3b proxy tries to scan the skype traffic which it can't due to skype being encrypted.  Http proxy is designed for http/s traffic..skype uses neither of those.  Two totally different protocols and two totally different types of traffic..use the socks..using hte right tool for the job will greatly enhance your user experience and reduce your headaches.  If socks 5 doesn't work then switch it to socks 4 skype does either.

    Hi, did you configure Skype to use the SOCKS proxy?

    Check the logs again (WEB, Firewall, IPS).
