NAT & Internal Web Server

Hello,

We want that one of our internal (web) server to be accessible on our public IP.

So, we have defined a NAT rule like this.

Rule type: DNAT
For traffic from: Any
Using service: HTTP
Going to: WAN-IP
Change the destination to: WEB-SERVER
Automatic Firewall rule: checked

From external, it's working when accessing with the address (sub.domain.com) associated with our WAN IP.

From internal network, it's not working with this same address (sub.domain.com). What can we do for that?

A second rule…

Rule Type: Full NAT
For traffic from: LAN (Network)
Using service: HTTP
Going to: WAN-IP (Address)
Change destination to: WEB-SERVER
Change source to: LAN (Address)
Automatic Firewall rule: checked

You can also create a dns record for the web servers host name, in your internal dns servers, which points to the internal ip address and avoid the firewall. If your internal domain is different than your public domain then you would need split dns.

try the Longman suggestion!
Your second rule can confuse the traffic going to google for example
