Accessing Web Server Internally

Hello!

I have a webserver running behind astaro on a computer with a static IP.

If I am at work, I can access the server with my DynDNS account name ***X.ath.cx

If I am on my LAN, I cant access the server with the DynDNS name, only with the IP address.

I've been trying different things for a few weeks now but I cant make any progress.

if I am at home and type in my WAN IP address (MyIpAddress), I get this from the firewall:

8:18:01 Connection using NAT TCP 192.168.2.55:1895→MyIpAddress:80
8:18:01 Connection using NAT TCP 192.168.2.55:1896→MyIpAddress:80
8:18:01 Connection using NAT TCP 192.168.2.55:1897→MyIpAddress:80

And by "If I am on my LAN, I cant access the server with the DynDNS name, only with the IP address." I mean the Local IP of the server - 192.168.2.2

When you do a DNS lookup on your DynDNS name, it resolves to your External IP. The packets can't just know to go out your WAN and loop back around.

You'll either wan to implement a static DNS entry pointing to the internal IP of the server or a Full Nat. See Accessing Internal or DMZ Webserver from Internal network: Astaro Security gateway

You should build DNS service in the same Web Server internal and make a record to translate dyndns name to ip of web server. Client must config via this DNS server, then every request from client always comes to DNS server to translate internal. Easy!!!

in the nat you build for the port :80 shoul be like this:
any -> http -> "External Address" (to) internal webservet -> http

in "network services" under "DNS" make a "Static Entries"
