Mac OSX Server Software Update

Hello,

Been trawling the forums in the hope to find an answer to my question but had no joy.

Running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on each of the client machines with Astaro Security Gateway V8.304

We have an XServe or Mac Pro in each location running the Software Update server.

I've allowed access to the Apple Software Update and that works fine.

I've added the same type of excpetion to what I believe the URL that the Macs are pointing to connect to the internal software update server is but it Software Update doesn't connect. I am able to ping the address as well.

If anyone could shed some light or has experienced anything similar I'd be very grateful. If you require any more information as well, i'm happy to oblige.

Hi, Ross, and welcome to the User BB!

Check in the Firewall, Intrusion Prevention and Web Filtering logs. Do you see anything related to this blocked traffic?

Thanks for this, finally figured it out myself this morning! Just had to add the excpetion on the mac proxy settings!
