XBOX Live Not Connecting? Read this

It seems the latest SNORT definitions enable a rule that prevents XBOX Live from connecting. 

15169  POLICY-SOCIAL XBOX Live Kerberos authentication request

To fix go to:
Network Protection>Intrusion Prevention>Advanced
Click the "+" to Modify rules.
Type in 15169 for the rule and select "Disable".

That did the trick for me.

    Thanks for the info, Jhaislet. I haven't been on my Xbox 360 in a few weeks. Today I upgraded my home box to version 9 with all current U2Ds. I went to connect to Xbox Live this evening and it couldn't connect. The Xbox Live test kept failing. I know I used my Xbox just a few weeks ago, so maybe it's something different with version 9 (?)

    I came across your post and disabled the rule you mentioned, but that did not help. I then disabled IPS entirely and it's now connecting fine. So there must be some rule preventing it from connecting. I'm curious how you determined what rule was failing during the Xbox Live connection process. That might help me determine which specific rule is not working, so I can re-enable IPS and just disable that rule.
