Unable to create alternate IP in AMI

Hi. In the AMI instance I'm not able to create my own IP's using the GUI because it says the Internal NIC is write protected.

  • Just to be sure, you need that additional address for your VPN connection, right?
    Whats the reason for that?

    AFAIK there is no way to use addresses assigned manually within an EC2 instance,
    you have to use DHCP for that, thats a EC2 limitation/security feature...
