Block MSN chat between 22:00-06:00 hrs.

Cloud be an old question, but hard to find.

In  my network I want to block, in a transparent proxy the chat in MSN.

I want to block MSN chat between 22:00-06:00 hrs.
What is the best solution ?

    Hi,
    a rough guide because it has been a couple of version since I had to do similar blocking.
    Assumption is that you want to block everyone?

    1/. time definition 2200-2359, 0000-0559 and 0600- 2159
    2/. http profiles setup for each time - one profile to block social networking the other to allow social networking
    3/. implement packet filter rules to block http/s traffic using time definitions

    If you want to block specific devices well then you need more time definitions and http profiles.

    You will need assign your allowed always IP addresses to a group and your controlled IP addresses to another group. Thesegroups are used in the profiles and the packet filter rules. Remember to have the rules in logical order time wise.

    Somewhere a year or so ago I posted a document on this subject.
