Slow ping to internet..

Hello .. After installing Astaro Home in Hyper-V Quad Core 9550 i have slow pings on the internet about 205ms.With my router installation before Astaro I had ping 30ms.I allow icmp on Astaro all boxes checked.

Can i Try Something??

Hi, what Virtual NICs are you using in Hyper-V?

Intels are normally recommended for VMs.

Hello Barry.. In Hyper V for external i use an Intel Pro 1000/MT.
All other network interfaces in hyper v are intel too.

Barry the vms virtual interfaces are the default not legacy..
Tha ASG show them as

eth0 [Microsoft/Citrix {70c29909-6196-4bd1-b3ac97c8165da329}]
Auto negotiation: On
Supported link modes:
MAC Address: 00:15:5d:c4:4a:00
Interrupt (IRQ):
PCI Device ID: vmbus_0_7
MII capable: No

I remember other users posting about poor performance with Hyper-V.
You may have to live with it, or consider switching to VMWare or KVM.

Are you seeing the pings through the HTTP Proxy, or using tracert and ping in Windows/Linux?

The latency could be caused by the delay in the HTTP Content Filter lookup.

Hello Peter i think you are correct..
The ping was under Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
When i try to ping from cmd i have good times.

So i suppose case closed..??
