Ping become slow after enable IPS

Hi guys..need some advise on my astaro machine..i do a ping test before enable IPS and the result is average is less than 1 MS. But after i enable IPS it become slow, average less than 4 MS. Any idea why this thing happen? i really need IPS on my network.

Then don't enable IPS? It's called a 'Security Gateway', not 'Gaming Gateway'... Security always comes with a performance hit, no matter which product you may take.
