Ping become slow after enable IPS

Hi guys..need some advise on my astaro machine..i do a ping test before enable IPS and the result is average is less than 1 MS. But after i enable IPS it become slow, average less than 4 MS. Any idea why this thing happen? i really need IPS on my network.

    Yes, this is expected behaviour. Since v8.200 there is a feature in IPS called "verdict batching". It works on bunches of packets at once (and needs some time to collect them) instead of one after the other. This enormously increases IPS throughput at the cost of a slightly higher delay.
