Number of Patterns at Intrusion Prevention

Dear all!

Maybe this question is just too simple but I am confused with the following thing:

In the dashboard the "Current system configuration" displays:
Intrusion Prevention is active with 6178 of 11204 patterns

But in "Network Security/Intrusion Prevention/Attack Patterns"
all patterns are active.

What about the other patterns (11204 - 6178 = 5026)?

What about the Extra Warnings checkboxes, etc ... those account for a great many of the IPS rules.

I have the same issue and have no idea why only half of the patterns are activated.

Perhaps a licence problem. Or many of this patterns will not be used because they are outdated but not deleted from an official list...

You really do not want all IPS rules enabled. You need to tune it for your environment based on what you use, unless you really enjoy being buried in false positives.
