QOS for Apple iCloud Service

Hi folks,

We want to limit the upload rate for any device on the network uploading to the Apple iCloud service.

The network iCloud is running on is 17.0.0.0/8, so we created a network definition in Astaro with that subnet.

Then we created a selector in the QOS section with a source of Any, Service of Any, and Destination of the Apple Network. TOS/DSCP is turned off.

Finally under bandwidth pools we created a pool under the External DSL interface which has an upper bandwidth limit defined at 50kbit/s and the apple network traffic selector selected of course.


The problem is when doing an iCloud backup from an iOS device, we can see in Astaro that the upload rate goes beyond 50kbit/s


Is there perhaps something we are missing or something else we can try?
