i installed 8.200 and was very excited to see about the new application firewall and BW control.
So i go to QoS where i have a vpn rule already and think "ok, i want to limit file hosters(MU/RS/etc) to 500kbits" so i go and create a rule with 1kbit min and maximum 500kbits and i get an error "the total BW cannot exceed the interface uplink maximum",
wuh?, i don't care about the uplink, it's not the uplink that i want to control! i want to shape download traffic and limit it.
let me put it this way:
my uplink is 256kbits, so i make a rule for RDP to reserve 200kbits so that i can have excellent response.
Someone comes along and starts hammering megaupload, saturates the downlink(and req traffic is minimal) and RDP drops, lags like hell, becomes unresponsive, and i go all "wuh???" since there should be a rule that guarantees traffic, yet does nothing for the downlink which is the important thing.
so, how do i do this?, do i make uplink rules on the LAN interface?
