We have a problem, we are moving a lot of servers from our current colo to a new colo. We are not able to move our IP address range so each server wil have a new IP.
When we did this is the past we have all sorts of issues with cached dns entries. We will reduce the time to live on the dns records to help avoid this issue but to cover us further I would like to do the following.
Add the exisitng server IP to an astaro appliance and configure a rule to forward any traffic that hits this IP to the new IP.
The problem is the astaro appliance wouldnt have an interface with an IP on the new range.
Can this work? I havent run any tests yet. This wouldn't be a long term solution just for 24 hours or so while all the dns servers update with the new IP addresses.
