This might have been answered a dusin times, but I havent manged to find the info anywhere.
considering the following scenario :
External ( WAN ) primary IP : 217.116.***.***/30
The primary IP is part of a range assigned to me as a /28 and is the first usable IP in the range.
I added the additional IP's from the range to the WAN interface as /32 one by one.
Now I wanted to masqurade a test network with a typical internal IP range that I dont want to access the internet from my primary public IP.
However when I go to Masqurading and select the defined test network /24 as source and select WAN interface as "interface", there is a drop down to select the additional public IP's assigned to the WAN interface. However I am not able to select any of these..
That leads me to the question.. is it only possible to use the additional public IP's for stuff like DNAT / SNAT ?
If not, please advice how this is ment to be configured as the manual and forum is pretty thin on the subject.
To create a masquerading rule, proceed as follows:
1.On the Masquerading tab, click New Masquerading Rule.
The Create New Masquerading Rule dialog box opens.
2.Make the following settings:
Network: Select the (internal) network you want to masquerade.
Interface: Select the (external) interface that is connected to the Internet.
Use Address: If the interface you selected has more than one IP address assigned (see Interfaces & Routing >> Interfaces >> Additional Addresses), you can define here which IP address is to be used for masquerading.
Comment (optional): Add a description or other information.
3.Click Save.
The new masquerading rule appears on the Masquerading rule list.
But how is this possible when each time i select an additional address it just returns to > ?
