Windows Easy Connect\Remote Assistance

Hi Everyone,

I am testing Windows Remote Assistance (Windows 7) as a replacement for our current remote control tool.  So far I'm pretty impressesed in the changes that MS put into play with in in the latest version. 

It includes a feature called Easy Connect that allows two computers behind a NAT to connect to each other without having to exchange an invitation file. 

My test lab includes 1 computer outside of the corporate network and 1 inside the corporate network.  I am able to connect the computers through remote assistance by sending an invitation file to the helper through email however when I attempt to use the Easy Connect feature and initiate the session, after the Remote Assistance tool "Checks Network Capabilities" it says "Easy Connect is not Available"..."Can't connect to global peer-to-peer network".  

I found that my test machine which is outside the corporate network and running through a UPNP capable linksys is able to get past the network check and awaits the helper but not the other way around.

My understanding is that UPnP must be available on the network and I am aware that Astaro does not have this capability.  Microsoft says this:
"Easy Connect uses the Peer Name Resolution Protocol to transfer the Remote Assistance invitation over the Internet. You can check your router by using the Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool on the Microsoft website. "  (I did this and it failed the UPnP Check)

MY QUESTION:  Has anyone had any luck getting this to work through the Astaro or have any suggestions as to how I might get it to work?  

I'm not looking for other products, my goal is to use what we currently have available to us without using third-party tools.  So, Please no suggestions.

    In a nutshell you will need to manually setup the rules/translations you need. Sure the linksys handles it with UPnP, but once you have set up the correct rules for your environment they can be scheduled, turned on or off as you see fit without having to recreate them.
