Please help adding DNAT rule

Dear all,

We are looing for a way to create a DNAT rule with a wildcard in the traffic source field.

We have over 70 DYNDNS addresses in a standard format and want to avoid having to adding additional dyndns addresses to the astaro DNAT rule every time a new address is created.

Please advise if this is possible

Regards

  • Hi, I think you'd be better off doing a DNAT for the internet, combined with a packetfilter rule which uses the DNS definitions.

Either way however, I don't think DNS definitions will resolve wildcards.

Have you considered using VPN clients?

  • I'm not familiar enough with DynDNS capabilities.  It might be possible with DynDNS for them to create an A record for each IP and associate them all to a single FQDN like customers.mycompany.dyndns.org.

You could then create a DNS Group definition with customers.mycompany.dyndns.org, and that definition would be the source in your DNAT.  In that way, the DNAT in the Astaro could be simplified.

    Cheers - Bob
