Blocked Connections without reason / log

i have a weird issue with my ASG 8.1 (problem occured on 8.0.3 ditto) installation. I don't know where to put this topic, but i think it's a networking / firewall issue.

The problem occurs when i boot up my workstation. After windows login a lot of programs are started (and very fast, because of solid state disk). The problem is, that a lot of internet-connections are timing-out, without any log at the ASG. A small list of programms, that are executed after bootup:

Thunderbird (6 imap/pop mailboxes), firefox (6 tabs), 2x icq, 2x msn, 1x yahoo, 1xAim, Skype, IRC, Steam, AV-Update. Maybe 100-200 connections, nothing special. Some of the connections are timing out. When this is happening, i can't access WebAdmin, this connection also times out. After a few minutes all services are working as usual.

Any Ideas ?

ASG 8.1 on Intel Atom-Board. 16 PF-Rules, IPS enabled, no HTTP/SMTP-Proxy.

I believe its the IPS, specifically the Anti-DOS protection of the IPS. When so many packets originate from one PC at an abnormal rate, they are dropped silently. Disable the DOS protection and see how it goes.

The Anti-DOS Protection was not the problem, after a few days the problem occured now again [:(]

Hi, check the IPS and PacketFilter logs.
