New to Astaro Security Gateway

Hi,
I'm new to ASG Software v. 8 and I'm spinning wheels here in how to set it up. To start, let me describe my network setup; 1 Sever and 3 Desktop, 1 Laptop and 1 HP printer. They are all connected to Switch (unmanage), which is connected to a FIOS Modem/Router combination.
 
I have the ASG Firewall installed and running on a Virtual Computer with its own dedicated NICs (Theres 3 NIC installed on the Server), on the Server. Right now, I have setup the ASG computer Internal Network with this IP: 192.168.1.20  (I set it up static on the NIC) and the External NIC with IP: 192.168.1.8 (Dynamic). My Modem/Router default IP is: 192.168.1.1 (Default Gateway). 

My goal is to have all computers to get DHCP and DNS from ASG Computer, so the Firewall and other security features works and from all computers. Do I need to disable the DHCP on the Modem/Router and have all computers with Static IP.

What is the easy way to accomplish this? Your help is appreciated. I have read the Astaro manual and is a little bit confusing. 

I think this is a Great software and I would like to be able to use correctly. In the end I want the ASG computer to control all aspect of the Network, like Security, control what can be browse from any computer, what goes out and what comes in.

    You can disable the DHCP server on your router, but you need not set static IP addresses for your machines as a result.  Consult your router's manual and see if it supports DHCP relay - basically redirecting DHCP requests to another machine's DHCP server (e.g. that built-in to Astaro).  See also if your router has similar support for DNS requests, this might also help.  But because you're running Astaro inside a virtual machine I'm not sure how successful all of this will be.  Try it anyway, it might just work on the basis that the virtual Astaro's WAN IP address is static.

    Hi,
    If you have ethernet coming INTO the FIOS router, then you don't need the router at all for internet.
    Call Verizon and ask for a DHCP release (tell them you're replacing your router with a personal one).

    If you have IP phone or IPTV also, search these forums for MOCA to see how you can configure them.

    Alternatively, you could bridge the router.

    I don't have ethernet connection to the modem/router but coax. Basically, I all want is that all computers on the network see the ASG computer and vice-versa. 
    I know is the same principle, when you do it on WIN2K3 server. But for some reason I'm unable to do it on this one. Basically, I'm looking for how to do it step by step, since the manual is not good at all. How did you do yours?

    My router support DHCP relay, but how do I create or configure DHCP on ASG?
    If, I'm unable to config DHCP and DNS; How can I set up the computer to see ASG and vice-versa using the ROUTER as DHCP and DNS server?

    Go to 'Network Services' > 'DHCP' > 'Servers', then click on 'New DHCP server...'.  Set your parameters as per personal preference.  Or if ASG already has a DHCP server configured simply click the 'Edit' button for that server.

    ASG supports redirecting DHCP and DNS requests to selected servers, whether they sit inside your network (e.g. a separate router/modem) or outside.  For DHCP relay go to 'Network Services' > 'DHCP' > 'Relay' and define the internal IP address of the router, and for DNS forwarding go to 'Network Services' > 'DNS' > 'Forwarders' and once again define the router's internal IP address (but also make sure to uncheck the 'Use forwarders assigned by ISP' tickbox).
