Browsing not happening with any any service

Hi,

I have Astaro security gateway 7 version 7.5. everything is working with Source (Internal) service (any) and destination (any). but whenever I am changing the network filtering using group of service (https,http,smtp, pop3) I am not able to browse any website with these configuration.

Please help us to resolve this issue ASAP.

    Actually we have implemented this firewall newly in our organisation. So we have enabled Internal->ANY service -> ANY destination -> to allow everything. but it is for temporary not for permanent we have decided to deploy these configuration at initial stage to work everything smoothly later on we will change into actual requirement. We don't to allow anyone to bypass all protocal as we want to allow some specific protocal like http, https, pop3, smtp, etc. 

    This is reason want to change it please let me know if more details required.

    Hi,
    just quickly. Each of those protocols has a proxy which can be enabled. With the http proxy depends on how you set it up as to what packet filtering you require. The http proxy in transparent mode will pickup port 80 before the port hits the packet filter rule.

    The POP3 proxy is easier to setup than the smtp proxy.

    Each ASG installation comes with the manual in built. I recommend you copy the manual onto your PC and then read it extensively before trying any additional changes.

    Just remember the proxies always precede the packet filter rules.
