Getting firefox??

Hi,
at the last few updates, I have gotten an error when trying to download firefox through the http proxy:
While trying to retrieve the URL:  http://mirror.netcologne.de/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.8/win32/da/Firefox%20Setup%203.6.8.exe
Error message:  Unsupported archive format encountered

Any ideas??

    Hi folks,
    it is a known bug in V8 with the avira anti-virus package.
    To download the firefox file you need to either disable virus scanning for a short time or by pass the proxy with a packet filter rule again for a short time.

    The list of people hanging out for a fix is growing every so slowly.

    Disabling AV works.

    i'm not seeing this issue in 7.5x... interesting.  However the list of problems for v8 is growing fast.

    This issue is in my 5 v7.506 and v8.000 systems too.

    Hi William,
    the scanning bug is not new, it was picked up during the v8 final beta but was not fixed for the GA.
    At this stage reports indicate it is only a problem with firefox.

    I would suspect the 7.506 got the new avira engine as well, because 7.506 was released about the same time as v8 GA.

    I have had this issue with several different files all from different sites.  Turning off the AV works fine as a temp fix. Don't forget to turn it back on. (Just scan these files with your desktop AV.)

    I hope they fix this soon.
