[8.000] uTorrent kills my surfing

I've had this problem through out the v8 beta (not verified in 7.5), and that is that from time to time I'm not able to surf the web when I have uTorrent running. It looks like DNS is stopped or something, but I'm also stopped from opening the WebAdmin in v8.000.

I'm wondering if it actually could be the TCP and UDP Flood Protection that kicks inn, which were enabled with standard settings (tcp: 100/200, udp: 200/300). Does that sound like a reason. I will do some checks when I get home. Which log file(s) will show me if the flood protection kicks in amd blocks traffic?

I have turned down the max half open setting in uTorrent to 5, and also the connect speed to 5, just to slow it down a bit... Running Windows 7. One uTorrent running on one computer stops websurfing on others as well, not just the one running the uTorrent client..

    Hi, yes, the flood protection and IPS alerts can overwhelm the firewall; make sure to tune them appropriately or add flood exceptions for that PC.

    The IPS log contains the flood and other IPS alerts.

    I turned off both TCP and UDP flood protection and that seems to fix it. I haven't experienced any time outs while surfing for two days. Good it was a "normal solution" to the problem, it has bugged the hell out of me for two months..

    As a security minded guy I think this was one of the first things I enabled and had forgotten about it ever since.

    Is there any good docs/equation to figure out a good setting for the Flood protection numbers?
