selected lines to uplink

Hello to all,

I am wondering if it's possible and smart to do the following netplan :

I have a sdsl line I want to use only for email services (IMAP and SMTP) and I have three adsl lines I would like to use specially for all the connections coming from my LAN to the WAN (websurfing mainly).

Do you think I can uplink the three adsl lines and set up the websurfing traffic to pass through it and keep my sdsl line out of the uplink and to set up all the email services through it.

    This is a great question, Elise.  At first, I was tempted to say that you could put all of the interfaces into Uplink Balancing and still accomplish what you want, but I don't see any way to do that if you're using the HTTP/S Proxy and the SMTP Proxy.

    Are you still on V7, or are you planning to do this with V8? (I haven't played with that yet)  In V7, I'd probably try exactly what you're thinking.  The SDSL would have the default gateway and its IP would be the target of the MX records for the domains you're hosting.  Uplink Balancing should be able to move all of the Web Surfing traffic out the three ADSL lines, so I bet you don't even need to SNAT and route anything.

    Please document here the method that works for you.  Don't hesitate to submit a ticket to support with the same question.

    I am on V7... Happy my idea was not totally stupid (yes I use the SMTP proxy)... I have submitted a ticket to be sure.
