Outgoing Cisco VPN Connections?

I am not sure if this should be in this forum, or the VPM one. The VPN forums seems to be for incoming VPN connections.

Anyway, running the current ASG and prior to moving from a standard Netgear firewall, I could use a Cisco VPN client to connect to an external Cisco VPN. Now that traffic is routing through the ASG, although I can apparently connect and get an IP to the remote network with the Cisco VPN client on Windows XP, I cannot ping/see any of the computers on the remote network? Nothing seems to appear in the packet filter logs though?

I am not sure where to begin looking for a solution. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi, do you have masquerading setup for your LAN?

    Also check the IPS logs.

  • I can't believe Barry forgot to mention one of the first comments I remember from him when I first started here...

Check the 'Network Security >> Packet Filter' 'ICMP' tab to be sure you're allowing ICMP traffic and pings through the firewall.
