What you suggest me for best settings with Astaro Firewall and Netgear WLAN Router?

Hi

What do you suggest me to configure the Netgear WNDR3700 with Astaro Firewall.
Do I need to made any special settings?

Did I need to know something special for this topology?

Do I configure Netgear WNDR3700 as DHCP Server or let Astaro doing DHCP job?
Do I need to configure in Astaro Firewall for WLAN function in WNDR3700?
What do you sugest me to configure here?

The connection with ISP manage my Astaro Firewall.

Hi Elena,

If you search here for "Linksys" you will find similar questions with answers, but essentially:

1. do NOT plug in the WAN/EXT port of the Netgear

2. disable the DHCP Server in the Netgear
(use Astaro's DHCP Server for your LAN)

To Astaro, it'll just be like an ethernet switch, but it'll also be a WiFi Access Point. You don't need to do anything different in Astaro.

Thats logic and works for me.


My Settings I made:

Netgear WNDR3700

==============

-Deactivated DHCP

-NOT plugging "Astaro-Out" to WAN/EXT port of the Netgear

-Change the LAN IP-Address in same subnet from Astaro-Internal. 



ASTARO

======

-Configure DHCP/IP-Range

-Static MAC-IP assignment

I thought that exist a special configuration that I need to know
for my scenario.
