I have several questions:
1) Why is every thread related to this issue being closed? Theere is a lot to discuss!
2) Current advice says not to totally disable IPS or you won't get the corrected update. How are those of us who disabled IPS altogether in order to get production systems back online before the more specific fix came to light expected to get the updates so that we can reactivate IPS?
3) Discussion indicates this affected beta installs 24 hours before production - why was the flawed update allowed to push to production boxes?
4 ) I for one would like more info on how this happened - I've just lost 5 hours of my life that I can never get back, apparently because the concept of testing is lost on someone....
