My local internal IP trying to connect to another local internal IP?

I'm trying to figure out why I can't connect to other peoples games.  The game in question is Supreme Commander.  I checked the livelog, and here is an example:

10:02:49  Default DROP  UDP  192.168.0.5  :  65217 →  192.168.1.101  :  3130 len=84  ttl=127  tos=0x00  srcmac=00:0c:29:22:cb:b5  dstmac=00:0c:29:22:cb:ab

How do I fix this?

  • Then I think that's a bug in Supreme Commander, or you need to configure it differently.  Probably, use the public IP assigned to his router.  There's no way the internet knows how to route a private IP (192.168.0.0/16 is reserved for private LANs).
