We are setting up a secondary failover internet connection using cable internet as the primary internet connection (eth1) and Clear WiMAX as the secondary (eth3).
Here is the problem:
One of our network segments (eth2) is used for our managed WiFi hotspot service. The Clear modems are locked down to the point that I cannot put them into bridge mode and I cannot change the default password of "motorola". I am concerned that users on the untrusted public WiFi segment could get in and hack on this device. Is there a way to block this network segment from ever accessing this device even when failover mode would be routing traffic across this device?
An option would be to just completely block eth2 from crossing accessing eth3, resulting in failover working for all but public internet.
Let me know if there are any other options.
