iphone access to itunes app

I just connected my iphone to my wireless and for some reason it times out when it tries to connect to the app store to get updates... why? ... is this normal?

    You haven't told us very much,but I'll guess that you should look in the 'Exceptions' for HTTP/S and just add "apple.com" wherever you see microsoft.

    i figured it was a common thing. 

    there is already an apple.com in the exceptions. 

    I have a really open rule for the packet filtering.. all internal to outside is allowed.... It should let it all go right? what is blocking my poor iphone from downloading the updates and using the itunes store. All of my other computers can use Itunes and allow that traffic.. what is different about my iphone?
