VoIP QOS Help

Hey guys, me again. [;)] Need some help with QOS this time and I am not finding anything helpful in the forums, and even less help in the docs. I have a WAN connection with 10Mb/1Mb. I would like to prioritize my VoIP traffic and I can't seem to figure out how the QOS is supposed to work. I created a traffic selector for RTP and set the up/down speed limits on the wan interface but I don't know where to go from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The fundamental concept of Astaro QoS is to allow unlimited use of the bandwidth unless some priority traffic isn't getting the bandwidth it needs.  Most Q0S configurations won't need upper limits set on traffic.

    Another key concept is that you only can make rules for traffic leaving an interface.  The Astaro automatically manages the traffic arriving at the interface.  Any rule you make for inbound traffic will have no effect.

    As for Tom's problem, I don't think there can be a solution other than throttling back the bittorent client in his PC.  If bittorent servers fill his WAN pipeline, there's nothing the Astaro can do; he has created his own denial-of-service self-atttack.

    Create a traffic selector "VoIP" =  'Any → VoIP Protocols → Any'.  Activate QoS for both Internal and External interfaces.  You probably don't need a bandwidth pool on the Internal interface.  You might benefit from a 500kb bandwidth pool on the External interface; you probably don't need 500kb, but whatever your VoIP doesn't use will be available for other things.
