[ASG220 7.405] SMTP problem with uplink balancing

Hello together!

I've activated uplink balancing with a SDSL (for VPN) and an ADSL (for HTTP). The SDSL is the primary one.

The mulipath rule is Internal Network  →  Web Surfing  →  Any  →  ADSL by interface.

After setup the ASG activated the SMTP Proxy and hooked on the ADSL interface the Default GW.

So it works fine with a simple masquerading rule Internal Network → Uplink Interfaces and all HTTP Traffic goes through the Proxy and the ADSL and the VPN connections work with the SDSL.

The problem is, that I can't sent out emails to my external provider. I've just deactivated the SMTP Proxy that has automaticly been activated during the procedure, but that doesn't work. After I've deactivated the Default GW hook on the ADSL interface it works, but now the HTTP traffic goes again only through the SDSL interface.

    It sounds like this is a new installation - is that right?

    When you say you have an "external provider," do you mean you use an external smart host with your internal mail server?

    This configuration is up one year and very complex.

    The connection speed becomes very slow and so I decided to use the unused adsl for websurfing and smtp. All traffic goes over the sdsl since one year. There is no chance to increase the bandwidth of the sdsl.

    We don't have a internal mailserver. The users connect via outlook directly to the provider somewhere in germany. That's the reason, I don't need the SMTP Proxy of the ASG.

    Hello again!

    At the weekend I tested different configuration, but nothing helps.

    - both, ADSL and SDSL are checked as default GW
    - there is a packetfilter rule LAN → SMTP → Any
    - Uplink balancing is activated with SDSL at top in mulipath mode
    - Multipath rule is LAN  →  Web Surfing  →  Any  →  HA (ADSL) by interface

    The users can use the internet service http over the proxy with the ip from the adsl. when they sent emails, in the live log of the packet filter, the rule for smtp goes green, but the user gets a message from mso, that he didn't found the smtp.

    A second multipath rule like LAN → SMTP → Any doesnt work.

    SMTP Proxy is disabled.

    We've a external Mailserver at our provider.

    SMTP works fine before I activated the uplink balancing.

    What can I do???

    Any ideas?
