Thanks for checking out my post. I'm a novice and would really appreciate some help.
I've got an IP phone that is trying to connect to a public facing IP at work which is forwarding requests to the PBX.
I've got the phone set up as a node under Definitions | Networks
I've got two rule in the packet filter allowing all types of traffic from any source to the phone and one from the phone to all destinations.
The phone can connect to the PBX fine and when I place a call...it will connect to my cell phone...but there is no audio. When I have the live log open up and then place a call on the IP phone...the log scrolls like crazy with statements like this one:
20:24:59 Default DROP UDP 70.166.204.243 : 6060
→ 68.231.98.129 : 50102
len=200 ttl=126 tos=0x00 srcmac=00:00:00:00:00:00 dstmac=00:21:9b:3f:cc:24
The first IP is the public IP at work that my phone is talking to. The second is my IP at home assigned by Cox.
When I set up a rule to allow all traffic between the two of those, it seemed behaved a bit differently...the call would go through but my cell phone would never ring.
So...I don't know what I'm missing...can anyone help?
Please let me know if you need more info to know what is going on.
Thanks.
