this post is to check some of your experiences related to QoS setting on ASG. Recently I was working on small project where we had to ensure guaranteed bandwidth between VPN connected location for Citrix services. At central site, customer is using heavy web filtering, av scanning, ips as well as antispam on same box. However, during high traffic from internal network on central location towards Internet, Citrix services were unusable on remote location. Even se had specific setting for ports, ip addresses etc ... After talking to level 1 support of the vendor, they actually shared with us info that if we are using web filter, ips, av traffic actually goes to queue 0 (by using internal proxies on firewall itself) and steps over Citrix traffic. And this is by design which is going to be changed sometimes in future.
So, my questions are:
- is there anybody who know how actually QoS works?
- is there anybody deployed complex QoS setting with high level of filtering, av scanning on same box and what is expeirence ?
- is there anybody having Citirx running in prioritized mode on ASG ?
