http -> second external interface.

Hi;

We have a site where they have just got a second ISP connection.

We waqnt to put all http traffic through this second interface and leave mail to go through the first interface.

I've been looking at snat, but don't seem to be able to get it to work properly.

We have the web proxy running within the Astaro, and the first interface is configured as the default gateway. The second interface is configured with a gateway, but it is not default.

Suggestions on how to approach this would be great.

    Hi Trevor,
    to use the http proxy you will need to switch your default gateway. The current version of ASG only allows for the proxies to work with the default gateway. Routing, NAT and packet filters are ignored by the proxies.

    There is a request in to allow the proxies to be pointed at different links for configurations like yours. There isn't any release date indicated for then enhancement.

    Trevor, if I've correctly understood your requirement, I think you can do what you want in V7.4 with Uplink Balancing and Multipath Rules.  I don't know if you'll also need to do as Ian suggests.

    If you're using an earlier version, you should search in the KnowledgeBase on policy routing - there are a couple articles that will point you in the right direction.

    I think you are correct with the mulitpath balancing. You would need to setup a rule for each protocol through the http proxy.

    I still think it would be easier and simpler to change the default gateway. Less complex set of rules to remember, manage and analyse when something doesn't work as expected.

    Wish I could justify a second link into home to experiment with some of this stuff.
