IP Addresses blocked ?

Hi

Using ASG 425 at v 7.305.

I don't know if anyone has encountered this problem before; we seem to be getting an issue with DHCP allocated IPs addresses not being able to route through the proxy to the internet; ping the proxy responds with a time out but pinging anything else on the WAN is Ok; tracert to the proxy just dies.
We have "fixed" it by getting a new IP address for the PC / Server in question but have now discovered that the "fault" stays with the IP address, so that any new server/pc getting that IP now exhibits the problem. Have flushed DNS Servers , restarted DCHP servers, and rebuilt IP  stacks on the failing machines all to no avail.  So the question is , does the Astaro store a list of bad IP addresses and if so how do I clear it ?

Many thanks

  • Nigel, check the 'ICMP' tab in 'Network Security >> Packet Filter', are you sure you don't have ping and traceroute blocked?

    Cheers - Bob
