NAT confusion

I come from a Cisco Pix background and I'm trying to configure an ASG.

The only problem I am having is that when I setup nat for an email server. In cisco syntax, I would setup a static mapping between inside and outside address, then an access list to permit outside traffic to the inside.

So, on the ASG - I did setup a DNAT and packet filter and  - at least on the inbound - it works as I need. However, when the server makes connections to  other outside mail server, it doing so via the interface IP and not the "inbound" ip address setup in dnat.

I'm missing something obviously.  any pointers to set me stright would be greatly appreciated.

Thank, Tony.
