Edit: I solved it.
I have a database server in a dmz that caters my clients on the lan (192.168.x.x). For those clients i have s strict route in the astaro into a foreign private lan (172.180.x.x) for accessing a second database server. the isdn router serving as the gateway to the foreign net resides in my private lan. So far so good. now i want my database server in my dmz to talk to the database server on the 172.180.x.x net. For a couple of technical reasons on the foreign side i have to solve this problem on my side, so i have created a snat.
Traffic selector: my database server → service → foreign foreign db server
Source translation: LAN (Address)
Automatic packet filter rule: off
I get a telnet connection to the foreign db server, but pings do not return. And the foreign party still sees me arriving with my host ip from the DMZ. So my snat seems to be wrong here.
