ASG 110/120 vs. Sonicwall for SMB?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience with Sonicwall and the ASG, and if you would be willing to compare the two?  I'm getting ready to purchase some sort of UTM (hardware based) for my small business and for my house (remote access to the office and filtering the kids).

I have been using Netscreen 5GT's for years, but don't like dealing with Juniper.

    Astaro Security Gateway 320 v7.1

    SonicWall E-Class NSA E6500



    But those are probably too big for your company.

    • Do you have an internal Exchange or POP3 mail server?
    • If you are in the USA, would you take credit card payments online?
    • Do you have a webserver for the outside world?

    It looks like the current recommendation from Juniper is the Netscreen SSG 5 as the 5GT is end-of-life on 12/31/2008.

    Hi Bob,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    We have 6-10 users, a few servers (custom application server) that we need to access remotely, and that's about it.

    The Netscreen literally dropped dead yesterday, so I'm really pressed to make a decision ASAP.  Unfortunately, the VAR that contacted me on behalf of Astaro was completely unable to answer any of my questions, and has been particularly unresponsive.

    The URL's you provided are very helpfull, thank you.
