Using 7.3 on my own hardware, last night I setup uplink failover, our main link went down this morning about 0400h and according the alert emails the backup link kicked in OK, but I was not here to test. Anyway, a minute or so later the main link came back up, again I got an email to say that Astaro had switched back to the main link. Only problem was when I came in this morning I had some weird problems.
Proxy OK (using transparent mode) could access any web site OK
Ping and traceroute OK, going out main link just fine
Anything else not so good, nothing that is allowed out would pass, tried RDP, SSH, IMAP and few other things, was not seeing any drops in packet filter live log. Nothing else could through the firewall.
Rebooted my PC to be sure, same thing, tested on another PC using same firewall, same results. Was about to reboot Astaro when I thought I would try disabling the uplink failover to see what happened. I set the main link back to no failover and then the backup link, as soon as I did that everything that is allowed through worked again. Judging by mail arrival times for an IMAP account I left open it stopped passing traffic just after it did a switch between links.
