Exchange Server Setup

I have read many post on this website to look for my answer and I have found some things that might answer my question.  However none of them fully answer what I'm looking for.  Here is my question.  I have an existing network setup with an Astaro Firewall with Astaro version 7.  The network works great.  I have recently installed an Exchange Server to this network.  The internal users can use the Exchange server to send emails and receive emails of all types (internal and external).  What I want is to setup some Exchange accounts from outside of the local network.  I have a public IP address setup for my Astaro Firewall.  I can also access my firewall with the name of exchange.companyname.com.  What I want to do is to be able to access my Exchange server from the outside world (ie. setup an outlook account using the exchange server).  I have come across some info about DNAT settings and forwarding ports, but I'm not 100% confident seeing this is my first time doing this.  Can anyone give me some step by step instructions for this setup with my Astaro firewall, and any settings I need to implement with my Exchange Server 2003?

My exchange server is setup with all of the default settings and can be accessed internally using http://servername/Exchange via TCP port 80.

    If I were to do that would I be able to setup an Outlook account through Outlook on a computer not on the network, or would I only be able to access the exchange server's OWA?  If I would be able to setup an outlook account on the computer what would be the address of the exchange server?  Would it be exchange.companyname.com?  Or something like exchange.companyname.com/exchangeservername?  Sorry if this is confusing.

    You would only be able to access OWA.
    You would need a VPN connection in order to setup the exchange locally.

    You have a lot of flexability here.  Having an Astaro box protect your network imposes no limits on your ability to run your mail server the way you want / need to.

    You can configure your Exchange server setup to work with any client you want (Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, whatever) or OWA, and to connect any way you want too (std. exchange, RPC over HTTPS, POP & SMTP, IMAP, etc.).  

    The ports for inbound and outbound access do need to be setup with your configuration and security needs in mind, but it won't limit your options.

    Also, you can access your mailserver using domain names, or you can have your users use the IP address, either way will work fine.

    What I really am looking for is using active sync on windows mobile cell phones.  So I would need to setup an outlook account not use OWA.  I understand how to use SSL connectors on laptops to connect to our network to access their exchange account from any location.  This seems to work and is very easy to setup.  Is there any way to do something like this with the windows mobile phones.  Is there any way to get an SSL connector on the windows mobile phones or any other way to achieve this type of result?

    If you're looking info or tutorials on how to configure MS Exchange and / or ActiveSync, etc., try the two sites below (search for what you need).  Once you've got your exchange with activesync setup, the configuration of the Astaro is relatively simple.
