Problem with PHPBB 3.0.1

i have a problem.... when i enable the package filter to my server web the php appliccation (PHPBB 3.0.1) became very slow  but if i disable in the intrusion protection/attack pattern/PHP  everysite run to a normal speed!!!
someone can help me? 
my server are cracked or my forum or my firewall aren't configured correctly??

    I have this same problem.  Astaro 7.402 running inside vmware and phpBB3.  If I disable IPS, I can view posts.  If I enable IPS, it takes 2 to 3 minutes to display a post.

    I put in an IPS exception for my phpBB forum server and the boards work smoothly.

    Has anyone checked to see which IPS rule is triggering?

    If the main topic list is running quickly, but the topic view takes 3 minutes to load, then rule 2229 is triggering (blocking page requests for viewtopic.php - old phpbb2 vulnerablity).  I could not find a way to disable just that one rule, so I unchecked IPS->Attack Patterns->Web Servers->PHP.

    If you are just getting overall very slow load times for all pages (external client, internal webserver) then you might have the same issue I have.

    I have ASG and my web server (ubuntu server 9.04 w/vmxnet 2 & vmci) running in the same ESXi vmware frame.

    You can disable a single rule at 'Network Security >> Intrusion Protection' on the 'Advanced' tab.

    I am starting to believe that my slow throughput issues are due to running in ESXi 4.0.

    Is there a plan to release a version with the 4.0 version of vmware tools?  Or is there a way for me to install them?  I will know for certain next week when I have a chance to rebuild ASG on a separate machine.

    I wonder if you don't have some misconfiguration.  What do you have in 'Local networks' on the 'Global' tab of 'Network Security >> Intrusion Protection'?
