[7.200] Skype issue

Hi,

We have quite a strange issue with Skype...
I update to latest firmware hoping it will change something, but it hasn't.

The problem is that some users can connect, other can't... In Astaro i set Skype as "do not control" but if i try to connect, Astaro hang (even web surfing hang...) and Skype doesn't connect. Some users doesn't have any problem.

If i check PF log while trying a skype connection, there are a lot of dropped packet... mainly UDP

    how do your packet fitler ruleset look like, especially outbound?

    Do you use the transparent HTTP proxy?

    Do you use Intrusion Prevention?

    Hi,

    As PF rules,I only have extra "allow" rules. I also have the default IM rules "Internal (Network) -> any / Instant Messaging protocols"

    We are using Transparent proxy and Intrusion protection.

    I just checked IPS log and i indeed see that my skype connection attempt was dropped because it seems it detected it as a portscan...

    I maybe could switch IPS off as it also detect some false issue while external user connect to our Exchange server via OWA.

    Hi,

    I switched off IPS, but stil get PF dropping the packets that skype send.

    I checked PF, and the protocol group "Instant Messaging" doesn't include skype and there is no definition for Skype. As it seems to use random port, i don't know how to adjust PF to allow Skype...

    I've got the opposite problem, the AFC is detecting and dropping Skype traffic where there is none (regular browser traffic using the standard HTTP proxy)... I reported it in the beta, and have now started a support case under 7.200.
