I can hear the way this discussion is going to go, but here it is.
I run a small home network with me and my non-technical wife. Yesterday MSN Messenger works. This morning it doesn't. I'm the only one with an admin login and it is a very non-trivial password. Yes, you can log into Admin from both internal and external networks (I need this in case I'm travalling and there is a problem).
MSN doesn't work out of the box when you install until you add a rule for 1863 TCP. Something I did months ago.
So, today, when I get Error: 80072745, I double check and the Definition that was there for 1863 is now gone. No big deal, I just re-add it, but how is it definitions go missing? Is it something that can happen in the security update?
A similar thing happened some time ago when I found out that relaying for SMTP got turned on for my external interface. Pretty cool when you actually see ASG block 140,000 outbound emails in about an hour.
