Static DNS Mapping Issues

I setup a webserver, and am trying to be able to ping it, access it, etc via hostname.  I added a static mapping to the hostname with IP address in Astaro, and can't ping it.  I can ping it fine via IP address.  I even rebooted the astaro unit with no success.  Tried flushing my DNS cache, etc on my workstation.  Any further ideas on this one?

Im running 7.102 still..

    That seemed to have worked..  I didnt change the webserver to  webserver.local, just the static mapping and now I can ping webserver.local.   Its too bad I have to do that, kinda sux..  I guess I'll have to just UNC to \webserver.local    from now on.

    Oh also do these rules look right in terms of securing my LAN from my DMZ?  I want to be able to access my DMZ from my LAN but not vice-versa for security reasons.

    quick question.  Shouldnt I be able to on my WEBSERVER, access my website?

    In other words, I can get to my website from anywhere outside the network, even inside the network on my workstations.  HOwever when I VNC into the webserver, and try to browse my website it doesnt come up.  Could this be a packet filter rule or...?  Maybe just an apache setting?

    Add a static dns entry for your public fqdn which is pointing to your private webserver ip (192.168.2.2)
