VoIP QOS - dumb question!

Hey guys,

When I set up QOS for VoIP - do I need to set these values for both Internal and External interfaces?

Checked documentation but could not find conclusive information.

No, I don't think so. But you could just try it out. I don't assume you have that much traffic on your local nic that something like qos would really be necessary for that interface.

Right now I do have matching QOS on both External and Internal. I found that if I created a "pool" for VoIP traffic it presented me with more problems as realted to calls dropping / voice quality etc...

So I deleted the reserved pool and it all really works well!

Hm, so you mean you dropped the qos rules for voip?

You haven't specified an upper bound for the bandwidth assigned to this pool, have you?

I have to go back and look.

I had allocated 190kb for VoIP traffic - but I cannot remeber just how I did it...

Any pointers? I have two systems that I am running right now.

How are you set up??? I was having issues with calls completley dropping - line would get full of static and the call would then drop.

I might have had it se up wrong???

Hm, I've never tried real voip (sip), only stuff like skype, where I haven't yet used qos.

What do you mean by any pointers?

How long have these calls lasted before they were disconnected?
Either you've set up something wrong, or it was because qos in Astaro seems to be kind of buggy what I had to learn (https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/55/t/43674) the hard way (reinstallation).
QOS seems to make connections unstable in some cases.
