Good morning/evening all...
I have been a happy user of ASG for nearly a year now and im very happy with the spyware blocking of the gateway, what I have found it lacks however is the ability to block add sites like double click (aside from adding to the blacklist)
For a long time now I have been using a local hostfile on my machines to block add sites. At the moment my network works like this.... Local Hosts File - internal dns server (2003 server) that then looks up using open dns. I dont really use the gateway for dns lookups.
I have the ASG configured to ask the 2003 dns for lookups and that works fine but what I would really like to do is import my hosts file into the ASG so that all the computers on the lan can block the ad sites.
I have looked for a solution on here and a way to get my 2003 server DNS to parse the file but the only hosts file blocking tools I can find that are any good are bind based. I assume that the ASG uses this to perform dns.
So in a nutshel, Is there anyway I can add a bulk list of bad sites the the ASG without having to copy the lot into the blacklist as I dont thing I will live long enough to complete this task [:)]
I have very little linux knowlege having spent my life from the msdos days to 2003 server and xp.
Any thoughts / Ideas ?
Many thanks for your time and attention.
Stuart.
