At present, I'm protecting one web server with my firewall (V7). The directions says that putting my servers in the advanced section windows under HTTP servers will make things faster. At present, I have my DMZ network in the list of networks and my single web server in the advanced area. I've selected the tests to be used. The web server is in the DMZ. I assume the network list is for networks to be protected and not networks from which I would expect an attack.
My question is: would I get the same results if I put my server in the protected networks? I'm not clear if protected networks means only networks. If I listed no networks kept the server in the advanced section, would the IPS be on or off?
