DNS Questions

I have the ASL 220 and have 2 interfaces
eth1 172.16.1.x
eth3 172.16.3.x

Dns requests on 172.16.1.x resolve just fine, however on 172.16.3.x I have the dns server entered on the client and try to resolve a hostname.. it waits about 15-30 seconds then resolves it. 

I have setup my internal AD server as a forwarder.. and set 172.16.3.x as an allowed network. I also have a packet filter rule for DNS -> 172.16.1.x.

any thoughts on what im doing wrong???

    So you have the PC's pointed to the AD server?
    And where is the AD server pointed to for DNS?

    Recommended setup:
    Use DHCP to point PCs DNS to AD server's
    AD server uses Astaro's DNS proxy for DNS
    Astaro uses your ISP's DNS resolvers.
