I have just installed Astaro 7.1 home license and the inital install went well. I have 3 NICs in the box and set Internal LAN to eth0. Once the setup was completed with the setup wizard my Internal LAN seems to work fine. The problem is when I try to add my second LAN (DMZ eth2).
When I look at Network -> Interfaces eth0 and eth1 are there and up but eth2 doesn't exist. So I click 'Add new interface', assign it a name of DMZ, select the last NIC in (3Com 10/100) in the Hardware selection screen, enter the interface IP 192.168.10.1/24 (Internal LAN was changed to 192.168.0.1/24). Save and then "activate" the network. The icon says eth2 is up after that.
After this I couldn't access any of my PCs (workstation and web server) on the DMZ segment. Couldn't ping any of the DMZ PCs from the Internal LAN either, but I can ping the DMZ interface (192.168.10.1). So, I visit the Network Security -> NAT and enter a Masquerade for DMZ -> WAN. It says it is there after "Save".
But I still cannot access or even ping the DMZ PCs nor can I access the WAN (internet) from any of the DMZ PCs.
My setup:
Internet -> Cable modem (static IP) -> WAN-Astaro-Internal LAN-switch-PCs
.................................................................|___>DMZ->switch->PCs
DHCP has also been setup for both Internal LAN and DMZ, although the DMZ PCs all have static IPs. The default gateway for the DMZ PCs is the DMZ interface IP 192.168.10.1.
I am a first time user of Astaro but I have been a long time user of a couple of other open source firewalls (SmoothWall and IPCop, mostly SmoothWall) and have done hundreds of setups of those firewalls. So I know my way around somewhat setting up home networks. However, I just can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my Astaro setup.
