Transparent Proxy
I'm trying to use the ASG320 to block a remote access program called logmein.com. It is a remote desktop app similar to gotomypc.com.
The application makes outbound connections on port 443, so obviously I can't just block the port.
I've tried the following so far.
- I blocked logmein.com in the HTTP proxy (plus, the HTTP proxy and FTP proxy both block msi & exe files) but this only prevents new installations.
- I ran netstat on one of the PCs it is installed on and blocked the IP that logmein was connecting to. This worked for a few minutes, until logmein tried another IP that wasn't blocked. The IPs that logmein connects to do not seem to have DNS names associated with them, so I can't block their hosts using the packet filter.
So, with this thing connecting to IPs that do not resolve to DNS names, using port 443, I can't figure out how to kill this thing! Any ideas???
